Enhanced Fraud Protection with Chip Technology

All Platinum East County Schools Federal Credit Union Visa Credit Cards have built-in EMV chip technology for your protection.

  • Enhanced level of security - the embedded chip generates a one-time use code when used at a chip-activated terminal. This code is nearly impossible to counterfeit and helps to reduce in-store fraud.
  • Swipe capability - if a merchant is not yet chip-activated, you can still swipe your card to pay
  • International Acceptance - the majority of merchants outside the United States require EMV chip technology. Your East County Schools Visa card is a great choice for your business and personal travel.
  • Visa's Zero Liability* Policy - is Visa's guarantee that you won't be held responsible for unauthorized charges made with your account or account information. You're protected if your Visa credit or debit card is lost, stolen or fraudulently used, online or offline.  Visa's Zero Liability Policy does not apply to any transactions that are not processed by Visa. For specific restrictions, limitations and other details, please call ECSFCU

If you have a Classic or Fresh Start VISA card, ask in our branch if you qualify for a Platinum Choice or Platinum Rewards VISA.

*Visa's Zero Liability policy does not apply to certain anonymous prepaid card transactions or transactions not processed by Visa. Cardholders must use care in protecting their card and notify East County Schools immediately of any unauthorized use. Contact ECSFCU for more detail.

Fun Fact: EMV stands for “Europay, Mastercard, and Visa,” the three companies who began this initiative

I've bought three cars through the credit union. They make it very easy, very simple, and you can't beat the interest rate. I highly endorse them, their friendly staff, and the service that East County Schools gives its members!
